Welcome to Norm Greengard's Bronze Art Studio.
About the Artist
Norm was born in Burbank, California, and grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley. As a young boy, Norm was always interested and fascinated in how things were built. One of his first jobs was carpentry work. Norm was inspired by a neighbor, who was a firefighter, and at 16 years old, decided that he wanted to be a firefighter. As soon as Norm was old enough, he applied for a position with the fire department. At 19 years old, Norm became a firefighter for a major metropolitan city.
Norm’s boyhood fascination for building remains, and he continues to enjoy creating. Norm has a construction background and for many years was a cabinetmaker. His other hobbies include restoring antiques and catch & release fly-fishing.
Norm’s creativeness extends to his art. He now concentrates his efforts on his sculpting. His limited edition bronzes are sculpted in a non-hardening clay and cast in the state of Montana at Art Castings of Montana by utilizing the “lost wax process.”
Artist Statement
When I create a limited edition fine art bronze sculpture, I strive to have the bronze tell a story. I believe that the art appreciator should not only enjoy looking at the bronze, but should be inspired by the art work and feel the emotion in the sculpture.
My desire as an artist is to be similar to a good writer or storyteller when they capture your attention. My goal is to have the visual aspect of the bronze catch your eye, and the action and feeling that the bronze relays capture your attention.
